Wasps' Nests is the 1995 debut album by The 6ths, a side-project created by Stephin Merritt of The Magnetic Fields. Merritt wrote and recorded the album, inviting different vocalists to sing lead. Like the band's name, the album title is a tongue-twister. Yet Another Girl" originally only appeared on the vinyl release of the album, but was later included on Merritt's 2011 compilation Obscurities. All tracks written by Stephin Merritt.

Sticker: Originally released in 1995, Wasps' Nests is the acclaimed tongue twisting debut from the 6th's - the side project of The Magnetic Fields' Stephin Merritt featuring guest vocal appearances by a who's who of 90's indie rock royalty. It is a fine, quaintly flawed collection of bubblegummy synthpop that now feels like something of a blip among the more well-known projects he’s done since. But within his creative history, it represents a marker of Merritt’s time within the underground scene, a community that he happily moved past as quickly as he could ( I have no interest in remaining in the indie rock ghetto, he told the Village Voice in late ’99). Lyrically, Wasps’ Nests has all the highs and lows of Merritt’s non-conceptual work. The good outweighs the blunders here, but for every fine-tuned verse ( I was happy, which is not like me at all/For an hour I was feeling 10 feet tall ), there are others that stumble.

Wasp's Nest was a television play broadcast on the BBC Television Service on 18 June 1937. It was adapted from the short story of the same name by crime writer Agatha Christie which had first appeared in the Daily Mail on 20 November 1928 and first appeared in book form in the US collection Double Sin and Other Stories in 1961. It first appeared in a UK collection in Poirot's Early Cases in 1974.
