The Whole Love is the eighth studio album by American alternative rock group Wilco, released on September 27, 2011. It is the first Wilco album that was released on their own label dBpm. Attendees at Wilco's 2011 Solid Sound Festival at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art from June 24 to 26 could purchase the first single from the album, "I Might".

The Whole Love bows out with "One Sunday Morning (Song for Jane Smiley's Boyfriend)", a gently unfurling umpteen-minute heart-stopper loosely centered around a weekend with the Iowan author's paramour. The gorgeous, gripping "Sunday Morning" proves The Whole Love 's second major triumph, epic in length but intimate in effect. Unlike "Art of Almost", "Sunday Morning" does nothing to push out the band's boundaries; it is, rather, a very good, very long Wilco song, one that could've appeared on nearly any of their post- . After a few years of constant sonic flux and personnel shifts, Sky Blue Sky and Wilco (The Album) found the band feeling more resolved than ever, a consistent lineup settling into what seemed increasingly like a signature sound. But Wilco's always seemed their most creatively surefooted atop uneven ground.

With The Whole Love, Wilco have made an album where the whole is as strong as the individual parts: the musicians play off one another with the intuition and understanding that separates a real band rather than folks who simply work together, and the songs cohere into a whole that's rich, intelligent, and often genuinely moving. Quite simply, this is the work of a great band at the peak of their powers, and The Whole Love is a joy to hear, revealing more with each listen and confirming once again that Wilco is as good a band as America can claim in the 21st century.

The Whole Love is a much more inspired album than Wilco has released in some time, but more than that, it’s the band’s most exciting album since Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. There’s energy and fire throughout the album, and an aim for something much bigger than merely an expertly played and well produced rock album. The Whole Love is a finely-tuned, determinedly subtle album, full of discreet touches and unassuming flourishes that can often only be gleaned when paying very close attention. The Whole Love is a bit of a mess. It's solid and has some decent Wilco tracks but there just isn't any consistency or here. Some tracks are just boring and it does feel like the band regressed a bit as this feels more like their early country works they were moving away from. Still there are some solid Wilco songs here especially the final song "One Sunday Morning" which is just this sweet ten minute track that feels oh so soothing for the soul.
