David Bowie is the self-titled debut studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on 1 June 1967, on Deram Records. Its style and content bears little overt resemblance to the type of music that he was later known for, such as the folk rock influenced "Space Oddity" or the glam rock of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

In 2002 David Bowie is no less compelling - he's just not so maniacal. ), while the internet is one of the ways he stays in touch with, well, everything. Interestingly, those original photographs of Bowie with a barking hound had been rejected for the Diamond Dogs album cover in favour of the famous illustration by Guy Peellaert - of "Rock Dreams" notoriety - which saw the singer transmogrified into a half-canine mutant, and which itself had to be retouched because it was initially considered too sexually explicit.

David Bowie left behind one of the most beautifully bizarre catalogs the music world has ever seen. Hunky Dory (1971) Planet Earth, meet David Bowie. One of him, anyway – even in 1971, the former David Jones had already burned through a few pop disguises, posing as a folkie hippie songbird or a London mod pin-up boy. He scored a novelty hit in the summer of 1969, Space Oddity. But Hunky Dory was the album where he staked his claim as the most altered ego in rock & roll, billing himself as The Actor on the back cover while stretching out as a singer, songwriter and all-around mind-freaker.

As is usual, the performer who curates the festival gives a performance themselves and in 2002 Bowie undertook the role so gave this concert as his direct input. Because this is an unofficial recording made by an audience member, this means at times the camera work is a little shaky and sometimes Bowie is not fully audible when addressing the audience. That apart the sound quality of the song sequences is still quite good and the footage is still of an enjoyable quality. A nice memento of a one-off occasion.
